10 TikTok Recipes ACTUALLY worth making

10 TikTok Recipes ACTUALLY worth making

I don’t know about you guys, but when I’m high, I get the munchies. Sometimes however, a packet of chips or some biscuits don’t really hit the spot, and I wanna get my creative juices flowing in the kitchen!

I don’t actually have Tiktok any more… you know after the whole data stealing breach… so I find Tiktok recipe videos on Pinterest. When I scroll through Pinterest I save so many Tiktok recipe videos, mostly ones that you make in a mug in a microwave, and I think to myself... I wish someone would vet these recipes for me.

That brings us to today... Seeing as though no one has done the hard work for me, I’ll do it for you. So, without further ado, let’s get into some Tiktok recipes that are actually worth making and a few Pinterest and YouTube recipes also worth making (for when you have the munchies hehehe).

Today I’m bringing you 10 recipes, 5 savoury and 5 sweet. I chose these 10 recipes because they all are quite easy and fast to make, relatively healthy and are all made up of products everyone likely has in their pantry and fridge.

Savoury Recipes:

  • Pizza Pockets
  • Cheesy Microwave Mug Mac and Cheese
  • Breaky Muffins
  • Cucumber Roll Ups
  • Cheesy Potato Pancakes

Sweet Recipes

  • Frozen Banana & Strawberry Yoghurt Bites
  • Fireball Apple Fritters
  • Healthy “Apple Pie”
  • “Elephant Ear” Tortillas
  • Avococoa Smoothie

Pizza Pockets

These pizza pockets take me back to my childhood, waiting in line at the tuckshop with my gold coins in hand. Hoping the kids in front of me were leaning towards a salad sandwich, a pie or even a sausage roll... anything other than the pizza pocket I had my eye on. This recipe is great for when you’re stoned! Super simple, once the pastry is defrosted (assuming everyone keeps their pastry in the freezer) it’s as easy as popping on a few ingredients and popping in the oven!

Ingredients:

Puffed pastry

pizza sauce (alternatively you can use tomato paste with some Italian herbs)

peperoni

cheese (shredded)

Italian herbs

Method:

Step 1- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius

Step 2- Cut puffed pastry into 10cm x 10cm squares (cut the sheet into 4)

Step 3- Spread sauce diagonally covering half of the pastry

Step 4- Sprinkle cheese and place peperoni onto the sauce

Step 5- fold over the pastry to create pizza pocket triangle, crimp outside edges by taking a fork and pressing down to seal the pocket sprinkle again on top with cheese and your Italian herbs

Step 6- Place in oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown & enjoy!

Cheesy Microwave Mug Mac and Cheese

Sometimes you just want a cheeky mac and cheese but don’t want to make enough to last into next week. As the queen Cardi herself says, “Macaroni in a pot, that’s some wet ass p*ssy” not too sure how I can relate that to this recipe… but I just wanted to include it lol. This is the only ‘mug recipe’ that made it onto the list of recipes. Reason being, because its easy, fast and the perfect mac and cheese treat. Give it a try today, I bet you have all the ingredients!

Ingredients:

Macaroni

Water

Salt

Milk

Cheese (shredded)

Method:

Step 1- Add 1 cup of macaroni, 1 cup of water and a teaspoon of salt into a mug

Step 2- Put into microwave for 4 minutes

Step 3- Strain the macaroni, put back into mug

Step 4- Add ¼ cup of milk and 1 cup of shredded cheese, stir

Step 5- Put into microwave for 2 minutes

Step 6- Stir and enjoy!

Breaky Muffins

These muffins are great for wake and bake stoners who normally skip breakfast. They are very light and you can choose to eat however many fills you up! The ingredients are interchangeable, for example I would love to switch up the ham with some chorizo – or even better, keep the ham AND the chorizo. For those health nuts out there, you could add capsicum, onion or mushrooms; it’s really up to you and what you have in your fridge that you want to get rid of.

Ingredients:

Egg

Milk

Flour

Baking Powder

Salt

Chilli Flakes (optional)

Dried Basil

Ham

Cheese (shredded)

Method:

Step 1- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius, spray a muffin tray with olive oil (any oil will work)

Step 2- Whisk 1 egg into a bowl, add and combine ¾ cup of milk – set aside

Step 3- Add 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, a pinch of chilli flakes and a pinch of dried basil. Combine

Step 4- Combine wet and dry ingredients

Step 5- Slice ½ cup of ham, add to mixture, add ½ cup of shredded cheese to mixture - mix

Step 6- Separate mixture into muffin tin, sprinkle each muffin with extra shredded cheese and place into the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown & enjoy!

Cucumber Roll Ups

Great for a Summers day, these cucumber roll ups are the perfect treat to tie you over before dinner time. When you think of healthy snacks I’m sure a lot of you (along with me) think of vegies and hummus dip, this recipe is a great alternative.

Ingredients:

Cucumber

Tomato

Olives

Hummus/Tzatziki

Method:

Step 1- Peel your cucumber into long strips, place onto some kitchen roll to soak up excess water

Step 2- Cut up your tomato and olives into small similar sizes

Step 3- Spread your hummus or tzatziki (you can replace these with your favourite dip) onto the cucumber strips

Step 4- Sprinkle over the tomato and olives on top of the dip

Step 5- Roll up & enjoy!

Cheesy Potato Pancake

For those days when you feel like something ooey, gooey, warm and delicious. These Cheesy Potato Pancakes are an absolute revelation! Next time you have left over mashed potato, for sure keep this recipe in the back of your mind before you throw any out. I personally, have never had the forethought to keep left over mash, however I do make this from scratch on a semi regular basis as a naughty treat.

Ingredients:

Potato

Salt

Milk

Flour

Cheese (shredded)

Oil

Method:

Step 1- Boil potatoes

Step 2- Smash, add pinch of salt and milk (try a couple tablespoons first then add as needed), let cool.

Step 3- Add flour, bit by bit (enough to form a dough)

Step 4- Form a ball, flatten the ball, put a little shredded cheese into the centre of the ball, enclose the cheese by forming a ball, flatten the ball and now you have your pancakes to fry

Step 5- Shallow fry in hot pan with oil until golden brown on both sides – approx. 1 ½ minutes a side

Step 6- Sit on kitchen roll to drain oil & Enjoy!

Frozen Banana & Strawberry Yoghurt Bites

This one is a great snack that legit tastes like ice-cream. You can switch out any of the fruits in this recipe and alternatively use flavoured yogurt so you can skip steps 2 and 3. I will say that with the measurements the way they are, I had a lot of strawberry yoghurt left over, so if you don’t want left over yoghurt, use less strawberries and yoghurt, however, it sorted me out for my breaky, so no complaints here!

Ingredients:

Banana

Strawberries

Yoghurt

Method:

Step 1- Slice banana

Step 2- Microwave 6 strawberries for 40 seconds, take out and mash

Step 3- Mix strawberries in with 4 tablespoons of yoghurt

Step 4- Cover each banana slice with strawberry yogurt and place on a non-stick baking sheet and place in the freezer for 1 hour

Step 5- Take out & enjoy!

Fireball Apple Fritters

These fritters taste like something you would pick up at a fair, but guess what! In these Covid 19 times, we can have carnival food right here at home. This recipe does take a little longer than some of the others, however, the ingredients are all staples in my house and probably yours too.

Ingredients:

Apples

Flour

Milk

Fireball Whisky (optional)

Ground Cinnamon

Baking Powder

Salt

Egg

Vegetable Oil

Cinnamon Sugar

Method:

Step 1- Cut apples into slices, remove the core

Step 2- Place ½ cup of flour, ½ cup of milk, 1/8 cup of Fireball whisky, 1 ½ teaspoons of ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt and 1 whisked egg into a bowl, mix.

Step 3- Coat apple slices in batter

Step 4- In a hot pan, shallow fry the apple slices in vegetable oil

Step 5- Fry for approx. 3 minutes a side, making sure the slices are golden brown on both sides

Step 6- Take slices out, place them on kitchen roll to drain out oil

Step 7- Coat in cinnamon sugar & enjoy!

Healthy ‘Apple Pie’

If you’re looking for a recipe that feels like a full dessert, this one is for you. Just like with all of the recipes in today’s blog post, you can choose to modify any of the ingredients to suit your preferences. You can change the walnuts to any type of nut if you do have an allergy, you could add sultanas in with the nut mixture if you’re into that…  also, you could change the ricotta to straight up vanilla ice-cream!

Ingredients:

Apples

Walnuts

Ground cinnamon

Melted Butter

Ricotta Cheese

Honey

Method:

Step 1- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius

Step 2- Cut apple in half and remove the core and the stem

Step 3- Melt one teaspoon of melted butter in a bowl, add a small handful of chopped walnuts and half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon into the bowl and mix

Step 4- Put nut mixture into the apples

Step 5- Place apples into a non-stick baking tray along with ¼ cup of water and place into the oven for 30  minutes

Step 6- Take out of oven, and out of the baking tray and let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 7- Place a tablespoon of ricotta on top of the apples and drizzle with honey & enjoy!

‘Elephant Ear’ Tortillas

This is the easiest, fastest, recipe on the list today, and it has the least amount of ingredients. Great for a quick snack, any time of the day. Hot tip- If you’re looking to have this as a bigger meal, I’d serve these with some strawberries or maybe even a fruit salad and some yoghurt.

Ingredients:

Vegetable oil

Tortillas/Wraps

Cinnamon Sugar

Method:

Step 1- Heat vegetable oil in pan on high

Step 2- Once HOT, place tortilla in pan and flip after 10/15 seconds (should be nicely browned)

Step 3- Cover with cinnamon sugar & enjoy!

Avococoa Smoothie

I’m not going to lie, this was the first time I’ve tried avocado in a sweet recipe and I was very happily surprised! You cannot taste the avocado at all, but knowing it’s in there, giving you its avocado goodness, certainly makes you feel like a health and fitness guru. This smoothie is a great alternative to a chocolate milkshake! You could also serve this as a mouse to eat with a spoon out of a bowl if you reduce the amount of milk.

Ingredients:

Avocado

Banana

Ice

Cocoa Powder

Milk (of your choice)

Method:

Step 1- Place half an avocado, 1 whole banana, 1 cup of ice, 1 heaped tablespoon of cocoa powder and 3 tablespoons of milk into a smoothie blender

Step 2- Blend, serve & enjoy!

Making these treats do take longer and are more effort than ordering Uber eats or eating a packet of chips, however, they are much healthier, and will give you that rewarding sense of accomplishment that only high functioning stoners get ;) and at the end of the day… isn’t that what we all want to be?

Break the stigma of being a lazy stoner, and make a delicious treat for yourself today! If you don’t have the ingredients for at least one of these recipes in your kitchen right now... I’d be very surprised! In fact, I’ll even give you a 15% off code for the store… dm us on Instagram ;)
